Frequently asked questions
How do I book a repair?
Search for a service on FixLinkr, compare nearby shops by price, rating, and availability, then select a shop and click "Book This Shop." Choose your service, vehicle, and preferred date and time. You'll get a confirmation email and can track your booking from your dashboard.
Find a mechanic →What do Fixed, Starting, Diagnostic, and Estimate pricing mean?
Fixed Price means the price shown is what you pay for the service as described. Starting Price means the final cost may be higher depending on your vehicle or parts needed. Diagnostic Fee is what the shop charges to inspect and identify the issue. Estimate Required means the shop will inspect first and provide a written estimate before any work begins.

Use our symptom checker. You describe what you're experiencing in everyday language — like "squealing when braking" or "clunking over bumps" — and we'll suggest the likely cause and point you to the right service.
Start the symptom checker →How are shops verified?
We're building out our verification program. Currently, shops marked "Business Verified" have confirmed their business information with us. We're working toward full NY DMV registration and insurance verification for all NYC shops. We only claim what we can verify.
About verification →What should I do if I have an issue with a shop?
First, try to resolve the issue directly with the shop. Disputes about pricing, quality, or timing are between you and the shop. If you believe a shop has violated our Terms or posted misleading information, contact us and we'll review.
