A Better Way to Find Auto Repair
FixLinkr helps drivers find, compare, and connect with mechanics and repair shops. Starting in New York City, we are building a simpler way to understand service options, compare pricing, request estimates, and book automotive services.
Why We Built FixLinkr
Getting your car repaired shouldn't feel like a gamble. Most drivers have experienced at least one of these frustrations:
- Calling five shops to compare prices — and getting five different answers
- A final bill that was higher than the original estimate
- Not knowing whether a repair is necessary — or how much it should cost
- Being charged "diagnostic fees" without knowing what they include
FixLinkr was built to fix that. One place to see what's available, what it costs, and who's offering it — with a clear, upfront view before you commit.
How FixLinkr Works
1. Search
Enter your vehicle, service, and location — or describe the symptom if you're not sure what's wrong.
2. Compare
See real prices, ratings, availability, and shop details — side by side.
3. Book or request
Book an appointment online or request an estimate from multiple shops.
4. Approve
Approve any additional work before it happens. No surprises at pickup.
For Drivers
- Transparent pricing — see the price type (fixed, starting at, or diagnostic) before you book
- Compare multiple shops — prices, ratings, and availability in one view
- Shop profiles — see services, hours, specialties, and warranty details
- Verified reviews — only from customers who completed a booking through FixLinkr
- Approval workflow — no additional work happens without your explicit approval
For Mechanics and Repair Shops
- Free to list — set up your shop page in minutes and start receiving bookings
- Control your own pricing — you set fixed prices, starting prices, or diagnostic fees
- Manage appointments — confirm, start, and complete bookings from your dashboard
- Reach NYC drivers — including TLC and rideshare drivers actively searching for repairs
- TLC discount program — opt-in to offer exclusive discounts to NYC TLC drivers
Our Commitment to Transparency
Auto repair pricing is often unclear. On FixLinkr, every service is labeled with one of four pricing types — so you always know what to expect.
Fixed Price
A set price for the service as described. This is what you pay, assuming no additional issues are found.
Example: Oil change — $79
Starting Price
A minimum price based on typical cases. Final cost may be higher depending on your specific vehicle and parts needed.
Example: Front brake pads — from $189
Diagnostic Fee
A fee for the shop to inspect your vehicle and diagnose the issue. Often credited toward the repair if you proceed.
Example: Check engine scan — $89
Estimate Required
For complex repairs, a shop will inspect first and send you a written estimate for approval before any work begins.
Example: Transmission repair — quote provided after diagnosis
Our principle: If a shop finds additional work needed during a repair, they must request your approval before proceeding. This aligns with New York State DMV requirements that repair shops obtain customer authorization and do not exceed the written estimate without consent.
About Verification
We're building out our shop verification program. We only claim what we can verify:
Shop has confirmed their business name, address, and contact details with us.
The shop owner's identity has been confirmed.
We're working with NYC shops toward DMV registration verification. Not yet enforced for all listings.
We plan to verify insurance for all listed shops. This program is being built.
A shop listing on FixLinkr is not, by itself, a guarantee of quality. We recommend always reading reviews and asking questions before booking any repair.
Starting in NYC
New York City is home — and it's where we're starting. With over a million drivers, dense repair options, and a strong community of professional TLC and rideshare drivers, NYC is the perfect place to build the future of auto repair discovery. As we grow, we'll expand to other cities — but NYC is our foundation.
